7stanes goes to Belfast
The south of Scotland 7stanes project is to visit Belfast in February and spread the mountain biking message to the people of Northern Ireland. The 7stanes biking display team will be in action with some jaw dropping moves, riding balance beams and showing off jumps from great heights. There will also be a "Have a go area" for anyone wishing to try their hand at mountain biking. Demo bikes will be offer and travel information on getting to Scotland for some the world's best biking will be available to everyone who comes to see the roadshow. The event takes place in Custom House Square, Belfast, on 20 February from 10am - 4pm. Mandy Burgess, 7stanes development co-ordinator said: "We already attract many riders from Northern Ireland but we wanted to spread the message even further. We want people to be more aware of the scale, quality and range of 7stanes biking on offer all year round. "We'd welcome anyone with an interest in finding out more to come along to the event, have fun and find out more." The 7stanes roadshow has joined forces with local business representatives from the south of Scotland to discuss the green tourism benefits and accommodation on offer. Sponsors Stena Line will also be on hand to give information on ferry services to the south of Scotland and major bike retailer Chain Reaction will be providing high spec mountain bikes. The 7stanes mountain project consists of seven purpose built mountain bike centres located right across the south of Scotland from the Borders to Galloway.
